Babysitter's Training

Course Information

Red Cross babysitters are a cut above! Designed for boys and girls ages 11-15, this course teaches babysitters how to:

Perform First Aid and CPR and summon advanced medical help quickly
Make responsible decisions when supervising children
Perform basic care routines such as diapering, feeding and dressing
Handle bedtime issues
Find and interview for babysitting jobs

Note to parents:

Students must be walked into the building by an adult, and must remain supervised until a representative of the American Red Cross assumes responsibility.
Students must bring a sack lunch and must remain with the group during the entire break.
At the end of the day, students must be met by an adult inside the building before heading home.
Please remind your child(ren) that all cell phones and pagers must remain turned off while class is in session.

What to Wear and What to Bring

· Dress comfortably; many skills are practiced on the floor in a kneeling position.

· Please arrive on time; no admittance is permitted 15 minutes after the start of the class.

· Bring a notepad, pen/pencil to take notes

· Practice sessions can be physically demanding. If you have any questions about your ability to participate, consult with your Health Care Provider prior to the course. If there are any special needs that the course instructor should know about, please call (210) 582-1931.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds. If you are unable to attend a class for which you have registered, please contact our office a minimum of three (3) days prior to the class date. At that time, we will reschedule you to another class or offer your space to another student on your behalf. Payments must be received with registration form, no later than three business days prior to the start of class. All class availability is on a first come first serve basis.
